Support Openings

The School Aide position will provide support for the University Academy with students and teachers in the classroom.

• This position is for 192 days which follow the University Academy District Calendar each school year (varies year-to-year, typically mid-August to early June).
• This position will have no vacation accrual since summers are off.
• This position will be paid on a 12-month distribution to have their pay/benefits through the summer.
• Dependent on start date, the monthly salary will be prorated according to the number of school days remaining.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

• Assists with direct instruction of students (individually or in small groups) under supervision of teacher.
• Assists in student management (in/out of classroom)
• Assists with preparing instructional material and classroom for daily lessons.
• Assists with other campus activities/duties as needed: breakfast/lunch duty, pick-up duty, etc.

Required Education/Experience

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• 2 years relevant experience (may accept combination of education and experience).
• Educational Aide Certification 

Preferred Education/Experience

• College hours preferred.

The Administrative Assistant I will provide non-routine clerical and administrative support which may include managing, scheduling, maintaining student records, handling communications, organizing events, data entry, report preparation, compliance monitoring, and administrative tasks.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

• Copying, scanning, faxing, printing, filing, organizing.
• Take phone calls, assist visitors, compose e-mails and other written communication.
• Assist in compiling and maintaining documents for various reporting events. 
• Assist in scheduling appointments and follow-ups.
• Maintain and organize student records.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents.
• Enter and update student data in the PEIMS system.
• Verify and validate data for accuracy.
• Generate and prepare compliance and internal reports.
• Assist in submitting required reports to educational authorities.
• Help monitor compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Organize and maintain PEIMS-related files and documentation.
• Assist with event preparations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two (2) years of related work experience.
• May accept a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in field closely related to the specific endeavor of the department.
• One (1) or more years of clerical experience.
• Experience with Skyward and Excel.
• Database experience.

UT Tyler University Academy is looking to build a pool of candidates for substitutes. As openings become available, applicants will be selected for interviews.

Job Type/Hours per Week 

Part-time; up to 19.5 hours weekly, hours and schedule will vary. School days/hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:00pm.

Salary

$15.00 per hour

UT Tyler University Academy is looking to build a pool of candidates for bus drivers. As openings become available, applicants will be selected for interviews. This position is responsible for the safe operation of University vehicles and excellent customer service to passengers.

Job Type/Hours per Week 

Part-time; up to 19.5 hours weekly, hours and schedule will vary.

Salary

$18.00 per hour

Required Education / Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two years of commercial driving experience including minimum of one year of experience driving a passenger/school bus.
• Valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Air Brake, Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements.
• Texas School Bus Drivers Certification
• Must pass a Driver’s license history check and criminal background check
• Must pass a drug test prior to employment and will be subject to reasonable cause and random alcohol and drug screening during employment.

• Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations, safety procedures, vehicle mechanics, route/areas, passenger management, and first aid.
